Everyone has heard the phrase “new normal” in regards to returning back to the office. As England physically welcomes back more employees into office buildings, following the easing of lockdown restrictions, many workplaces have had to adapt to implement this “new normal” form of working within office-based environments, which looks like it is here to stay until the foreseeable future.

But what does it mean to us at Bull Marketing? Well, we have now returned to working at our office, naturally with the appropriate safety measures in place. Plus, there has also been 2 new additions to our Account Management team, Lauren Cass and Rav Sharma… So “new normal” has actually been pretty exciting for us!

Whilst we wait for ‘best practices’ to emerge on how best to settle back into office life, we have made some changes of our own, including: making our own tea and coffee, keeping 1m+ apart and hand sanitizer – everywhere!

At Bull Marketing, we were kept busy during lockdown, with exciting client projects and hiring virtually for the first time in our history. But, how was this completed and what measures have been needed in order to adhere to this process? Well, let us fill you in….

1. Remote Working

The whole team worked remotely during lockdown, utilising instant message solutions and video calls regularly to stay in touch. Our previous #WFH blog touched upon exactly how we’d all adapted to this and how we kept our workplace camaraderie up virtually! Vouchers for Graze Box was also a way of not only keeping workplace companionship up, but also provided us with a nice tasty treat during lock-down! Yum.

2. Virtual Interviews

The use of video-calling saw a major rise during the lockdown period, with applications such as Zoom providing an easy form of communication between our team members and for conducting potential candidate interviews. This was no different for our recruitment process, whereby virtual interviews became the new normal for screening potential candidates – however, it is nice to be back face to face in order to dive in and provide the right training and mentorship for the new team members now they have officially started.

3. Contactless Office Workspace / Organisational Changes

Many offices are implementing ways of adhering to social distance requirements of 1 metre plus. Returning to the office at Bull Marketing means that gone are the days of coffee making rounds and instead we have had to take more of an ‘every man for himself’ stance. Also, ensuring that staff are separated and adhering to social distant requirements, working spaces have been kept two metres apart and the flow through the office has been considered and adapted. It is no surprise in our fast-paced industry that sometimes complications can occur with a project, however returning to the office and being face to face has enabled us to problem solve quicker and in return, increased team morale.

4. Flexible Working

We have some employees who are unable to attend the office and need to continue working from home, which has been fully embraced and they will migrate back as they are able to. Working together as a company to find solutions that work for every individual and also the business has been undertaken to make sure each staff member feels safe and secure. As we now have a blend of people based in the office and virtually it means more than ever, we have optimised our communication so nothing goes a miss!

Here at Bull Marketing, we understand the “new normal” way of working is very different from company to company, and continuing to evolve and change each week. But rest assured, we can provide marketing support virtually through video conference calls or online communication tools. So, call us today on 0118 380 0333 to implement your marketing needs!
